Bananas: Good Mood Food

So you’re depressed. Maybe you’re just feeling ‘under the weather’.

The amino acid tryptophan helps your body make serotonin, a brain chemical that regulates mood. Low serotonin = low mood; high serotonin = well, it won’t make you ‘high’ but it will improve your mood. Human bodies need vitamin B6 to help convert tryptophan to serotonin. Bananas contain both tryptophan and vitamin B6 in large amounts.
